Who we work with in Phoenix

From our Phoenix office we provide private wealth and family office advisory through the VistaWealth Office™; OCIO and investment consulting to foundations, endowments and nonprofits; Integrated Chief Investment Officer™ (iCIO™) services to RIAs, multi-family offices and trust departments; and fiduciary consulting to 401(k), 403(b) and pension plan sponsors.

We regularly meet clients in Phoenix, Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Arcadia, Biltmore, Tempe, Chandler, Mesa and the greater Phoenix area, and serve institutions and families nationally from all three offices.

Choosing an investment advisor in Phoenix

Our guide, Selecting a Phoenix Area Financial Advisor, explains how to evaluate fiduciary status, independence, credentials and fees before you sign an agreement — whether or not you choose Vistamark.

An independent, fiduciary advisor in the Valley

Vistamark Investments is an independent, partner-owned, SEC-registered investment adviser and a fiduciary to every client, and it accepts no compensation from managers, custodians or product sponsors. Our Arizona office is led by Sean McEvilly, CFA, who splits his time between Phoenix and Chicago and leads the firm’s private markets research.

Planning issues we see most often in Arizona

Arizona has a flat state income tax and no state estate tax, and many of the families we meet here divide the year between Arizona and another state. That raises practical questions about which state is home for tax purposes, where accounts and trusts should be sited, and how to coordinate advisors in two places. We also work with Valley business owners preparing for or completing a sale, and with retirees deciding how to turn a portfolio into durable income.

Arizona foundations, endowments and nonprofits invest under the state’s version of UPMIFA; UPMIFA in Plain English explains what it asks of a board. Our Ten Questions to Ask an OCIO is a good starting point for any committee reviewing its advisor.

How a first meeting works

A new relationship starts with a no-cost conversation about goals and the balance sheet. We then gather the details and deliver a written proposal with every fee disclosed. Meetings can be held at our office on Camelback Road, at your home or office, or by video.
